1/8 Finals Round 2: EWE Baskets - Strasbourg 64-93

Strasbourg cruised past EWE Baskets in Oldenburg and marched into the quarterfinal stage. The game without a history. Strasbourg IG led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to EWE Baskets' 22 and made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded EWE Baskets 35-19 including 26 on the defensive glass. Strasbourg IG looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Mardy Collins (198-84, college: Temple) who scored 16 points and 7 assists. The other American import forward Matt Howard (203-89, college: Butler) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Four Strasbourg IG players scored in double figures. Slovenian guard Klemen Prepelic (191-92) produced 13 points and American center Brian Qvale (210-88, college: Montana, agency: Pensack Sports) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
