Galatasaray eased past their Turkish rivals Karsiyaka in Istanbul and rallied into the quarterfinals. Galatasaray made 19-of-20 free shots (95.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) who scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). American-Czech swingman Blake Schilb (201-83, college: Loyola, IL) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. Five Galatasaray players scored in double figures. American Kenny Gabriel (209-89, college: Auburn) produced 18 points and American-Guinea-Bissau center Colton Iverson (212-89, college: Colorado St., agency: Pensack Sports) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
