Regular Season Round 4: Darussafaka - Anadolu Efes 79-84

Anadolu Efes' fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Darussafaka (2-2) on the road game in Istanbul 84-79 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 26-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by French guard Thomas Heurtel (189-89, agency: BeoBasket) who scored that evening 15 points and 9 assists and American forward Tyler Honeycutt (203-90, college: UCLA) supported him with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Even 13 points and 4 assists by American guard Scottie Wilbekin (188-93, college: Florida) did not help to save the game for Darussafaka. His fellow American import guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) added 11 points and 6 assists for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Anadolu Efes (1-3) left bottom position moving up to twelfth place, which they share with Brose Bask. and Zalgiris. Loser Darussafaka dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. Anadolu Efes will meet at home higher ranked Panathinaikos (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Darussafaka will play against Zalgiris in Kaunas and hope to secure a win.
