Regular Season Round 4: EA7 Armani - Real Madrid 90-101
Date: October 27, 2016
Another interesting game for Spanish Real Madrid (3-1) which played on the court of Italian Armani Milano (2-2). Third ranked Real Madrid had an easy win 101-90. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid. Armani Milano was better in third quarter 25-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Armani Milano was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Anthony Randolph (211-89, college: LSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and Sergio Llull (190-87) who added 18 points and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side American-Georgia guard Richard Hickman (189-85, college: NC-Greensboro) responded with 19 points and 5 assists and American swingman Rakim Sanders (193-89, college: Fairfield) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Five Real Madrid and four Armani Milano players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Spanish champion maintains third position with 3-1 record behind leader CSKA, which they share with Panathinaikos and Olympiacos. Defending Italian champion Armani Milano dropped to the sixth place with two games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Real Madrid will play against bottom-ranked Galatasaray (#16) in Istanbul in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Armani Milano will play on the road against Brose Baskets (#13) in Bamberg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
