Regular Season Round 6: Darussafaka - Brose Bask. 72-70

A very interesting game took place in Istanbul. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked German Brose Baskets (2-4) to fifth ranked Turkish Darussafaka (4-2) 72-70 on Thursday evening. Brose Baskets were tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. American forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) notched 17 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and French Adrien Moerman (202-88) supported him with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Even a double-double of 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists by Italian Nicolo Melli (205-91) did not help to save the game for Brose Baskets. American guard Darius Miller (202-90, college: Kentucky) added 12 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Brose Baskets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Darussafaka moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Defending German champion Brose Baskets dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Darussafaka's next round opponent will be league's leader CSKA in Moscow and it will be for sure the game of the week. Brose Baskets will play at home against Crvena Zvezda (#14) and hope to win that game.
