We should mention about the upset which took place in Istanbul, where higher ranked Spanish FC Barcelona (4-5) lost to fourteenth ranked Turkish Galatasaray (3-6) in a road game 64-78. The game without a history. Galatasaray led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Galatasaray outrebounded FC Barcelona 41-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by FC Barcelona's players. American-Czech swingman Blake Schilb (201-83, college: Loyola, IL) nailed 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and Sinan Guler (192-83, college: Carroll, MT, agency: 1x1 Sports) accounted for 18 points and 7 assists. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. American-Montenegrin point guard Tyrese Rice (185-87, college: Boston Coll.) came up with 22 points and 4 assists and American power forward Joey Dorsey (206-83, college: Memphis) added 7 points and 10 rebounds respectively for FC Barcelona in the defeat. FC Barcelona's coach tested eleven players and allowed the starting five to rest. Galatasaray moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Zalgiris. FC Barcelona lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. Galatasaray's next round opponent will be higher ranked Baskonia (#7) in Vitoria and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
