Regular Season Round 4: UMMC - Bourges 81-66

Second defeat of league's leader French Bourges (2-2) against second ranked Russian UMMC Ekaterinburg (3-1) 81-66 was the most important game of the last round. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-66. Strangely Bourges outrebounded UMMC Ekaterinburg 36-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Brittney Griner (203-90, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 rebounds. Italian-American Diana Taurasi (182-82, college: Connecticut) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Serbian guard Miljana Bojovic (181-87) replied with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and Canadian center Kayla Alexander (193-91, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Bourges. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Despite that victory UMMC Ekaterinburg went down to third position (Group B) due to points difference. Bourges at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Dynamo K.. Bourges will play next round against league's leader Nadezhda Orenburg trying to make it back to the top of the standings. UMMC Ekaterinburg will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq on the road.
