Regular Season Round 10: Brose Bask. - CSKA 88-90

Sixteenth-ranked German Brose Baskets (2-8) used its home court advantage to challenge first ranked Russian CSKA (9-1) in Bamberg. The visitors from Moscow managed to secure only two-point victory 90-88. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Brose Baskets won third quarter 28-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CSKA players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Brose Baskets were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Serbian point guard Milos Teodosic (195-87) scored 31 points and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Andrey Vorontsevich (207-87) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Italian Nicolo Melli (205-91) responded with 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Daniel Theis (204-92, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. CSKA have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending Russian champion maintains first position with 9-1 record. Brose Baskets lost fifth consecutive game. Defending German champion stay at the bottom place with eight games lost. CSKA will play against Armani Milano (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Brose Baskets will play against Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv and hope to get back on the winning track.
