Regular Season Round 10: Baskonia - Galatasaray 69-62

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Spanish Baskonia (6-4) beat 14th ranked Turkish Galatasaray (3-7) in Vitoria 69-62. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 22-9. But Galatasaray won second period 23-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. German center Johannes Voigtmann (211-92) fired 13 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. American point guard Shane Larkin (180-92, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 7 points and 9 assists. German center Tibor Pleiss (217-89) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and American-Czech swingman Blake Schilb (201-83, college: Loyola, IL) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Baskonia moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Olympiacos. Galatasaray at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Baskonia's next round opponent will be Darussafaka (#9) in Istanbul where they are favorite. Galatasaray will play on the road against Panathinaikos (#8) in Athens and hope to win that game.
