Regular Season Round 6: Wisla Can-Pack - Mersin BSB 59-56

Important game to mention about took place in Krakow. Sixth ranked Polish Wisla Can-Pack (2-4) saved a 3-point victory at home edging bottom-ranked Turkish Mersin BSB (0-6) 59-56 on Wednesday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mersin BSB won third quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Wisla Can-Pack won last quarter 12-10. It was a good game for center Ewelina Kobryn (193-82) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Chilean center Ziomara Morrison (194-89) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American-Turkish center Kristen Nevlin (193-85, college: Stanford) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and Lithuanian center Gintare Petronyte (196-89) added 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Mersin BSB. Defending Polish champion maintains sixth position in Group A with 2-4 record. Mersin BSB at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Wisla Can-Pack will play against higher ranked Lattes Montpellier (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Mersin BSB will play against the league's second-placed Fenerbahce (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
