Fifteenth-ranked Russian Unics Kazan (3-9) made lots of trouble for fifth ranked Spanish Baskonia (8-4). The visitors from Vitoria managed to secure only one-point victory 92-91. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Baskonia made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Unics Kazan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American point guard Shane Larkin (180-92, college: Miami, FL) who scored that evening 22 points and 6 assists and Georgian forward Tornike Shengelia (206-91) supported him with 19 points. Even 28 points and 5 assists by American Keith Langford (193-83, college: Kansas) did not help to save the game for Unics Kazan. Spanish point guard Joaquin Colom (188-88, college: Forca Lleida, agency: Interperformances) added 23 points and 6 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Baskonia have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Unics Kazan at the other side dropped to the bottom position with nine games lost. Baskonia's next round opponent will be FC Barcelona (#10) at home and are hoping to win another game. Unics Kazan will play against Galatasaray (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
