Important game to mention about took place in Istanbul. Fifteenth ranked Turkish Galatasaray (4-8) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 12th ranked Italian Armani Milano (4-8) 83-80 in the fight for the twelfth place. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Armani Milano won third quarter 27-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (201-85, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. American-Czech swingman Blake Schilb (201-83, college: Loyola, IL) chipped in 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Croatian swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85) who recorded 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American swingman Rakim Sanders (193-89, college: Fairfield) added 18 points respectively. Five Galatasaray and four Armani Milano players scored in double figures. Galatasaray moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Armani Milano. Armani Milano lost fifth consecutive game. Galatasaray will face bottom-ranked Unics Kazan (#16) on the road in the next round.
