Bottom-ranked Russian Unics Kazan managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of two consecutive losses on Tuesday night. This time they won against fourteenth-ranked Turkish Galatasaray 73-60. The game without a history. Unics Kazan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Galatasaray's 26. Worth to mention a great performance of Spanish point guard Joaquin Colom (188-88, college: Forca Lleida, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Evgeny Voronov (192-86) contributed with 22 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Sinan Guler (192-83, college: Carroll, MT, agency: 1x1 Sports) answered with 17 points and 6 assists and Slovenian-Turkish swingman Emir Preldzic (206-87, agency: BeoBasket) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Galatasaray. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Unics Kazan (4-9) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Galatasaray. Unics Kazan is looking forward to face higher ranked Zalgiris (#11) in Kaunas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Galatasaray will play at home against Anadolu Efes and is hoping to win this game.
