Regular Season Round 16: Brose Bask. - FC Barcelona 85-65

There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked German Brose Baskets (7-9) rolled over 10th ranked Spanish FC Barcelona (7-9) in Bamberg 85-65 on Thursday. The game without a history. Brose Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a very good performance for Italian Nicolo Melli (205-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Latvian point guard Janis Strelnieks (191-89) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. American-Montenegrin point guard Tyrese Rice (185-87, college: Boston Coll.) replied with 19 points and 4 assists and guard Juan Carlos Navarro (192-80) added 5 points and 4 assists in the effort for FC Barcelona. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Brose Baskets have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending German champion moved-up to tenth place, which they share with defeated FC Barcelona. Brose Baskets will face Unics Kazan (#13) on the road in the next round.
