Regular Season Round 10: Fenerbahce - UNI Gyor 66-53

Very expected game when 7th ranked Hungarian UNI Gyor (1-9) lost to second ranked Turkish Fenerbahce (8-2) in Istanbul 53-66 on Wednesday. Fenerbahce outrebounded UNI Gyor 46-27 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American center Jantel Lavender (191-88, college: Ohio St.) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 5 rebounds. Hungarian-American guard Allie Quigley (178-86, college: De Paul) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Slovakian power forward Zofia Hruscakova (190-95) replied with 8 points and 7 rebounds and Belarusian swingman Tatsiana Likhtarovich (180-88) added 10 points in the effort for UNI Gyor. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Defending Turkish champion maintains second position in Group A with 8-2 record having just two points less than leader Dynamo K., which they share with USK Praha. UNI Gyor lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with nine games lost. Fenerbahce will face league's leader Dynamo Kursk on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. UNI Gyor will play against Wisla Can-Pack (#6) in Krakow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
