Not a big story in a game in Istanbul where 14th ranked Galatasaray (6-14) was defeated by fourth ranked Fenerbahce (13-7) 85-80 on Thursday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 21-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Czech power forward Jan Vesely (213-90) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-Turkish point guard Bobby Dixon (178-83, college: Troy, agency: BeoBasket) who added 17 points during the contest. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. American-Czech swingman Blake Schilb (201-83, college: Loyola, IL) responded with 21 points and 7 assists and Sinan Guler (192-83, college: Carroll, MT, agency: 1x1 Sports) scored 17 points and 8 assists. Fenerbahce have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending Turkish champion maintains fourth position with 13-7 record. Loser Galatasaray dropped to the bottom place with 14 games lost. Fenerbahce will face league's second-placed CSKA in Moscow in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Galatasaray will play at home against Panathinaikos (#7) and hope to win that game.
