Regular Season Round 21: Unics - Olympiacos 75-90

Very expected game when 14th ranked Russian Unics Kazan (7-14) was defeated at home by third ranked Greek Olympiacos (15-6) 90-75 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Olympiacos. Unics Kazan was better in third quarter 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Olympiacos shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. The best player for the winners was American point guard Erick Green (190-91, college: Virginia Tech) who scored 25 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Georgios Printezis (204-85, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists. Four Olympiacos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American Keith Langford (193-83, college: Kansas) who recorded 25 points and 7 assists and forward Pavel Antipov (203-91) added 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending Greek champion moved-up to second place, which they share with CSKA. Unics Kazan lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Olympiacos will face Zalgiris (#10) in Kaunas in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Unics Kazan will play at home against the league's leader Real Madrid and hope to win that game.
