Regular Season Round 21: EA7 Armani - Darussafaka 89-87

Bottom-ranked Italian Armani Milano managed to get a seventh victory. This time defending Italian champion edged eighth-ranked Turkish Darussafaka 89-87. Darussafaka was ahead by 12 points after three quarters before a 28-14 charge of Armani Milano, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Armani Milano especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. It was a good game for Croatian swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85) who led his team to a victory with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Davide Pascolo (201-90) contributed with 15 points for the winners. American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) answered with 20 points and 6 assists and Croatian power forward Ante Zizic (210-97, agency: BeoBasket) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Darussafaka. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Defending Italian champion (7-14) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Maccabi T-A and Unics. Darussafaka lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Anadolu Efes. Armani Milano will play against higher ranked Anadolu Efes (#8) in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Darussafaka will play at home against Fenerbahce where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
