Russian leader UMMC Ekaterinburg delivered the eleventh victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked French Villeneuve D'Ascq (5-7) 91-69. The game was mostly controlled by UMMC Ekaterinburg. Villeneuve D'Ascq was better in fourth quarter 22-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by American center Brittney Griner (203-90, college: Baylor) who scored that evening 19 points and 6 blocks and Slovakian-American point guard Kristi Toliver (170-87, college: Maryland) supported her with 11 points and 4 assists. Four UMMC Ekaterinburg players scored in double figures. UMMC Ekaterinburg's coach felt very confident using entire bench saving starting five for next games. Even 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by guard Virginie Bremont (177-87) did not help to save the game for Villeneuve D'Ascq. Defending Russian champion maintains first position in Group B. Villeneuve D'Ascq lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with seven games lost. UMMC Ekaterinburg's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Nadezhda Orenburg at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. Villeneuve D'Ascq will play against CCC Polkowice and hope to win that game.
