The game between second ranked Russian CSKA (16-6) and 5th ranked Serbian Crvena Zvezda (12-10) in Moscow on Thursday ended with biggest points difference. CSKA outscored guests from Beograd 102-80. The game without a history. CSKA led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 64.8 percent from the field and made 19-of-20 free shots (95.0 percent) during the game. CSKA outrebounded Crvena Zvezda 30-14 including a 25-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. CSKA looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a very good performance for French Nando De-Colo (196-87) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Forward Nikita Kurbanov (202-86) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Luka Mitrovic (204-93) replied with 16 points and 9 assists and American-Serbian Charles Jenkins (191-89, college: Hofstra) added 12 points and 4 assists in the effort for Crvena Zvezda. Four Crvena Zvezda players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending Russian champion maintains second position with 16-6 record behind leader Real Madrid, which they share with Olympiacos. Defending Serbian champion Crvena Zvezda dropped to the sixth place with ten games lost. CSKA will face Maccabi T-A (#13) in Tel-Aviv in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Crvena Zvezda will play at home against Galatasaray (#15) and hope to win that game.
