Regular Season Round 13: CCC Polkowice - Villeneuve 77-68

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Polish CCC Polkowice (2-11) won against at home 5th ranked French Villeneuve D'Ascq (5-8) 77-68 on Wednesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Villeneuve D'Ascq won fourth quarter 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CCC Polkowice looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Quite impressive performance for American point guard Jamierra Faulkner (168-92, college: S.Mississippi) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 assists. Croatian center Marija Rezan (198-89) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. CCC Polkowice's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Virginie Bremont (177-87) answered with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and forward Valerianne Ayayi (184-94) added 17 points in the effort for Villeneuve D'Ascq. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. CCC Polkowice maintains eighth place in Group B with 2-11 record. Villeneuve D'Ascq lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. CCC Polkowice will face league's leader UMMC Ekaterinburg on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
