Regular Season Round 23: Real Madrid - Darussafaka 101-83

Euroleague top team - Spanish Real Madrid (18-5) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat ninth ranked Turkish Darussafaka (11-12) 101-83. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid. Darussafaka was better in third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Real Madrid shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. It was a quality performance for Sergio Llull (190-87) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 8 assists. Liberian-American power forward Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee Services) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) came up with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Croatian power forward Ante Zizic (210-97, agency: BeoBasket) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Darussafaka in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Real Madrid have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. Defending Spanish champion maintains first place with 18-5 record. Darussafaka at the other side keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Real Madrid will play against bottom-ranked Galatasaray (#16) in Istanbul in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Darussafaka will play at home against Panathinaikos (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
