Quarter-Finals Round 1: Valencia - Khimky 88-82

Valencia grabbed the lead in the quarterfinal series versus Khimky. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Khimky won third quarter 20-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Valencia Basket made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Valencia Basket outrebounded Khimky 52-28 including a 23-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Khimky helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Swingman Fernando San Emeterio (199-84) stepped up and scored 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Montenegrin Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 11 points and 11 rebounds. At the losing side guard Alexey Shved (198-88, agency: Alti Sport) responded with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and American-Bulgarian point guard Earl Rowland (188-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
