Very predictable result in Beograd where sixth ranked Serbian Crvena Zvezda (14-10) beat 12th ranked German Brose Baskets (8-16) 74-60 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Crvena Zvezda. Brose Baskets managed to win third quarter 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Serbian Charles Jenkins (191-89, college: Hofstra) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 4 assists and forward Marko Simonovic (201-86, agency: BeoBasket) who added 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was French Fabien Causeur (195-87) with 21 points and Italian Nicolo Melli (205-91) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Serbian champion maintains sixth position with 14-10 record, which they share with Panathinaikos. Brose Baskets lost third consecutive game. Defending German champion keep the twelfth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Maccabi T-A and Galatasaray. Crvena Zvezda will meet league's second-placed Real Madrid on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Brose Baskets will play against the league's leader Anadolu Efes (#1) in Istanbul and hope to secure a win.
