Regular Season Round 25: Maccabi T-A - EA7 Armani 92-82

Date: March 9, 2017
Rather predictable result when thirteenth ranked Israeli Maccabi T-A (9-16) won against bottom-ranked Italian Armani Milano (7-18) in Tel-Aviv 92-82. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi T-A. Armani Milano was better in third quarter 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi T-A players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Guinea-Bissau-American center Colton Iverson (212-89, college: Colorado St., agency: Pensack Sports) fired 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American DJ Seeley (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) chipped in 15 points and 7 assists. Four Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. American swingman Rakim Sanders (193-89, college: Fairfield) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and American-Georgian guard Richard Hickman (189-85, college: NC-Greensboro) added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Maccabi T-A moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Brose Bask. Armani Milano lost fourth consecutive game. Defending Italian champion stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Maccabi T-A's next round opponent will be higher ranked Anadolu Efes (#8) in Istanbul and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Armani Milano will play at home against Crvena Zvezda (#5) and hope to win that game.
