Regular Season Round 25: CSKA - Galatasaray 85-69
Date: March 9, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Turkish Galatasaray (8-17) lost to second ranked Russian CSKA (19-6) in Moscow 69-85. It looked good early as Galatasaray took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then CSKA had a 33-12 second period charge getting the lead and Galatasaray was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-85. 25 personal fouls committed by Galatasaray helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. French Nando De-Colo (196-87) fired 22 points and 4 steals (made all of his eight free throws) for the winners. American power forward Kyle Hines (198-86, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (201-85, agency: BeoBasket) produced 18 points and Goksenin Koksal (195-91) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. CSKA have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending Russian champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Real Madrid. Galatasaray at the other side dropped to the fourteenth place with 17 games lost. CSKA's next round opponent will be Baskonia (#7) in Vitoria which should be theoretically an easy game. Galatasaray will play on the road against Olympiacos (#3) in Athens and hope to win that game.
