Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Turkish Anadolu Efes (13-12) and German Brose Baskets (9-16), which took place in Istanbul. Higher ranked Anadolu Efes were outleveled at home by thirteenth ranked Brose Baskets 87-68 on Friday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Anadolu Efes. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-68. Brose Baskets shot 64.3 percent from the field. Brose Baskets outrebounded Anadolu Efes 40-29 including a 37-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Brose Baskets especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 69.2 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Italian Nicolo Melli (205-91) nailed 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American guard Darius Miller (202-90, college: Kentucky) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). FYR Macedonian-Turkish forward Cedi Osman (204-95) came up with 15 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Derrick Brown (203-87, college: Xavier) added 13 points respectively for Anadolu Efes in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending German champion moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Maccabi T-A. Anadolu Efes at the other side keep the eighth position with 12 games lost. Brose Baskets will meet at home higher ranked Fenerbahce (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Anadolu Efes will play against Maccabi T-A (#13) and hope to secure a win.
