Very expected game in Athens where 15th ranked Italian Armani Milano (7-20) was defeated by sixth ranked Greek Panathinaikos (16-11) 74-61. The game was mostly controlled by Panathinaikos. Armani Milano was better in fourth quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Panathinaikos forced 23 Armani Milano turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American-Greek point guard Nick Calathes (198-89, college: Florida) who led the winners and scored 13 points and 4 assists. American point guard Mike James (185-90, college: Lamar) accounted for 13 points for the winning side. Four Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. Panathinaikos' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Panathinaikos moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Baskonia. Armani Milano lost sixth consecutive game. Defending Italian champion keeps the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. Panathinaikos' next round opponent will be Baskonia (#6) in Vitoria. Armani Milano will play at home against Brose Baskets (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
