Regular Season Round 28: Anadolu Efes - Fenerbahce 80-77

Important game to mention about took place in Istanbul. Seventh ranked Anadolu Efes (16-12) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 4th ranked Fenerbahce (17-11) 80-77 on Thursday evening. The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 23-15 Fenerbahce's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 80-77 at the end of the game. Anadolu Efes dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Fenerbahce's 30. Fenerbahce was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. At the losing side American-Turkish point guard Bobby Dixon (178-83, college: Troy, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and Serbian swingman Bogdan Bogdanovic (198-92) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. Anadolu Efes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Baskonia. Defending Turkish champion Fenerbahce keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Panathinaikos. Anadolu Efes will play against higher ranked Olympiacos (#3) in Athens in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fenerbahce will play on the road against the league's leader Real Madrid and hopes to get back on the winning track.
