Regular Season Round 28: Darussafaka - Galatasaray 73-67

Rather expected game when 11th ranked Galatasaray (10-18) lost to ninth ranked Darussafaka (14-14) in Istanbul 67-73 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 24-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds. The other American import forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (201-85, agency: BeoBasket) replied with 17 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) and German center Tibor Pleiss (217-89) added 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Galatasaray. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Darussafaka maintains ninth position with 14-14 record. Loser Galatasaray dropped to the twelfth place with 18 games lost. Darussafaka will face Brose Baskets (#12) in Bamberg in the next round. Galatasaray will play at home against Baskonia and hope to win that game.
