An interesting game took place in Kaunas where higher ranked Lithuanian Zalgiris (13-16) were upset on its own court by fifteenth ranked Italian Armani Milano (8-21) 88-84 on Friday. Zalgiris were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Armani Milano made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Zalgiris were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Andrea Cinciarini (193-86) stepped up and scored 17 points and 4 assists for the winners and American forward Jamel McLean (203-88, college: Xavier, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 17 points. Paulius Jankunas (205-84) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Lukas Lekavicius (180-94) scored 15 points and 7 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Zalgiris' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending Italian champion maintains fifteenth place with 8-21 record. Defending Lithuanian champion Zalgiris keep the tenth position with 16 games lost. Armani Milano will face bottom-ranked Unics Kazan (#16) at home in the next round.
