Regular Season Round 30: Maccabi T-A - Panathinaikos 61-81

No shocking result in a game in Tel-Aviv where fourth ranked Greek Panathinaikos (19-11) smashed 14th ranked Israeli Maccabi T-A (10-20) 81-61 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 49-19 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Panathinaikos dominated on the defensive end, holding Maccabi T-A to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi T-A's 22. Panathinaikos looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American point guard Mike James (185-90, college: Lamar) who scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import forward Chris Singleton (206-89, college: Florida St.) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Victor Rudd (205-91, college: S.Florida) who recorded 17 points and American-Israeli forward Joe Alexander (203-86, college: W.Virginia) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Panathinaikos have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Olympiacos. Maccabi T-A lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth position with 20 games lost.
