Rather predictable result when Czech USK Praha (2-1) defeated at home Polish CCC Polkowice (0-3) 72-66 on Wednesday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. USK Praha looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for Katerina Elhotova (180-89) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Alena Hanusova (190-91) helped adding 20 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Israeli-American forward Alysha Clark (178-87, college: Middle Tenn.St.) with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and British-Nigerian forward Temi Fagbenle (193-92, college: USC) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds. Five CCC Polkowice players scored in double figures. USK Praha will face Dynamo Kursk on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. CCC Polkowice will play against Bourges (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
