Regular Season Round 4: Dynamo K. - USK Praha 109-88

There was no surprise when 4th ranked Czech USK Praha (2-2) was crushed on the road by top-ranked Russian Dynamo Kursk (4-0) 109-88 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Dynamo Kursk. USK Praha was better in third quarter 28-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded USK Praha 41-22 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Dynamo Kursk especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Nigerian-American forward Nneka Ogwumike (189-90, college: Stanford) fired 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Serbian forward Sonja Petrovic (189-89, agency: ProDep Management) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Dynamo Kursk's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spanish point guard Marta Xargay-Casademont (181-90) produced 17 points and 8 assists and forward Karolina Elhotova (182-92) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Dynamo Kursk have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A with 4-0 record. Defending Czech champion USK Praha keeps the fourth place with two games lost. Dynamo Kursk will face Bourges (#7) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. USK Praha will play against Villeneuve D'Ascq and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
