The most surprising game was the first loss of Greek Olympiacos (4-1) on the court of thirteenth ranked Spanish FC Barcelona on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by FC Barcelona 73-51. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Olympiacos. FC Barcelona forced 21 Olympiacos turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. French center Kevin Seraphin (208-89) stepped up and scored 13 points for the winners and power forward Pierre Oriola (206-92) chipped in 11 points. Forward Kostas Papanikolaou (205-90) responded with 8 points and 4 assists and forward Ioannis Papapetrou (203-94, college: Texas) scored 11 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. FC Barcelona (2-3) moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Olympiacos at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. They share it with 3 other teams. FC Barcelona is looking forward to face Anadolu Efes (#16) in Istanbul in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
