Regular Season Round 6: CSKA - Valencia 94-67

Date: November 9, 2017
Rather expected game in Moscow where 7th ranked Spanish Valencia Basket (3-3) was rolled over by fourth ranked Russian CSKA (5-1) 94-67 on Thursday. The game without a history. CSKA led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for CSKA especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. The best player for the winners was French Nando De-Colo (196-87) who scored 23 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American swingman Cory Higgins (196-89, college: Colorado) chipped in 16 points. At the other side the best for losing team was German center Tibor Pleiss (217-89) who recorded 12 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian-Dutch forward Aaron Doornekamp (201-85, agency: Interperformances) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. CSKA have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Russian champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Khimki. Defending Spanish champion Valencia Basket keeps the seventh place with three games lost. CSKA will face Crvena Zvezda (#12) in Beograd in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Valencia Basket will play at home against Armani Milano (#16) and hope to win that game.
