Regular Season Round 7: Crvena Zvezda - CSKA 59-85
Date: November 15, 2017
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Russian CSKA (5-2) crushed 15th ranked Serbian Crvena Zvezda (2-6) in Beograd 85-59 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by CSKA. Crvena Zvezda was better in fourth quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Crvena Zvezda to just 7 points in third quarter. CSKA had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Quite impressive performance for Spanish point guard Sergio Rodriguez (191-86) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 9 assists. American power forward Kyle Hines (198-86, agency: BeoBasket) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four CSKA players scored in double figures. American-Montenegrin point guard Taylor Rochestie (185-85, college: Washington St.) answered with 15 points and 5 assists and Dominican-American James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) added 12 points in the effort for Crvena Zvezda. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Russian champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Real Madrid. Defending Serbian champion Crvena Zvezda dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost. CSKA will face Fenerbahce (#14) in Istanbul in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Crvena Zvezda will play on the road against Olympiacos in Pireus and hope to win that game.
