Regular Season Round 8: FC Barcelona - Valencia 89-71

There was a minor upset when higher ranked Valencia Basket (3-5) was defeated on the road by fifteenth ranked FC Barcelona (3-5) 89-71 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by FC Barcelona. Valencia Basket was better in third quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. FC Barcelona looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of French Adrien Moerman (202-88) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and guard Pau Ribas (195-87) who added 11 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four FC Barcelona players scored in double figures. German center Tibor Pleiss (217-89) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Guillem Vives (192-93, agency: Interperformances) scored 8 points and 7 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. FC Barcelona moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Valencia Basket. Valencia Basket lost fourth consecutive game. FC Barcelona will face higher ranked Maccabi T-A (#4) in Tel-Aviv in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
