Regular Season Round 6: UMMC - Familia Schio 64-50

There was a change at the Euroleague leadership position after last games. Round 6 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Italian Familia Schio (4-2). They were defeated by fifth ranked Russian UMMC Ekaterinburg (4-2) 64-50 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Familia Schio. It was a key game for the second position in Group B. The game was mostly controlled by UMMC Ekaterinburg. Familia Schio managed to win third quarter 15-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American center Brittney Griner (203-90, college: Baylor) scored 24 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Spanish swingman Alba Torrens (188-89) chipped in 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was French center Isabelle Yacoubou (190-86) with 7 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Francesca Dotto (170-93, agency: LBM Management) scored 11 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Russian champion moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Familia Schio. Familia Schio will play next round against strong Perfumerias Avenida trying to make it back to the top of the standings. UMMC Ekaterinburg will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Lattes Montpellier at home.
