Regular Season Round 6: Sopron Basket - USK Praha 71-79

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Hungarian Sopron Basket (4-2) against fourth ranked Czech USK Praha (4-2) on Wednesday night. Host Sopron Basket was defeated by USK Praha in a tough game in Sopron 71-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sopron Basket. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sopron Basket won third quarter 20-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Sopron Basket 44-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Spanish point guard Marta Xargay-Casademont (181-90) who scored 16 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Swedish center Amanda Bazoukou (196-93, college: Minnesota) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian Jelena Milovanovic (189-89, agency: ProDep Management) who recorded 19 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian forward Aleksandra Crvendakic (186-96) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Defending Czech champion moved-up to second place in Group A, which they share with defeated Sopron Basket. USK Praha will meet at home bottom-ranked Castors Braine (#8) in the next round where they are favorite. Sopron Basket will play against Bourges (#7) and hope to secure a win.
