Regular Season Round 10: CSKA - FC Barcelona 92-78

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Russian CSKA as it allowed them to take a leadership position. CSKA defeated 10th ranked Spanish FC Barcelona in Moscow 92-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of FC Barcelona. CSKA made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of French Nando De-Colo (196-87) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 assists and 4 steals. American swingman Cory Higgins (196-89, college: Colorado) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four CSKA players scored in double figures. French point guard Thomas Heurtel (189-89, agency: BeoBasket) replied with 11 points and 5 assists and French center Kevin Seraphin (208-89) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for FC Barcelona. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Olympiacos. FC Barcelona at the other side keeps the tenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Baskonia. FC Barcelona will play next round against strong Fenerbahce trying to get back on the winning streak. CSKA will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Brose Baskets in Bamberg.
