Regular Season Round 10: Panathinaikos - Unicaja 82-71

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Greek Panathinaikos (7-3) beat 12th ranked Spanish Unicaja Malaga (3-7) in Athens 82-71. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. American-Greek point guard Nick Calathes (198-89, college: Florida) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American James Gist (206-86) chipped in 17 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. At the losing side Serbian point guard Nemanja Nedovic (191-91, agency: BeoBasket) responded with 16 points and 4 assists and Serbian swingman Dragan Milosavljevic (198-89, agency: BeoBasket) scored 12 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Panathinaikos have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending Greek champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Fenerbahce. Unicaja Malaga lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with seven games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Panathinaikos will play against Zalgiris (#9) in Kaunas in the next round where they are favorite. Unicaja Malaga will play on the road against Baskonia in Vitoria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
