Regular Season Round 11: FC Barcelona - Fenerbahce 68-83

Very expected game when 11th ranked Spanish FC Barcelona (4-7) was defeated at home by third ranked Turkish Fenerbahce (8-3) 83-68. It looked good early as FC Barcelona took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Fenerbahce had a 17-10 second period charge getting the lead and FC Barcelona was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-83. Greek point guard Konstantinos Sloukas (197-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 5 assists. American swingman James Nunnally (201-90, college: UCSB) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. French center Kevin Seraphin (208-89) answered with 12 points and 9 rebounds and Hungarian Adam Hanga (199-89, agency: Octagon Europe) added 15 points in the effort for FC Barcelona. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. FC Barcelona's coach rotated twelve players saving starting five for next games. Fenerbahce have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending Turkish champion maintains third place with 8-3 record behind leader CSKA U18. FC Barcelona at the other side keeps the eleventh position with seven games lost. Fenerbahce's next round opponent will be Zalgiris (#7) in Kaunas. FC Barcelona will play on the road against Real Madrid (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
