Regular Season Round 12: CSKA - Maccabi T-A 101-86

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Moscow. First ranked Russian CSKA faced 4th ranked Israeli Maccabi T-A. Host CSKA (10-2) defeated guests from Tel-Aviv (7-5) 101-86. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Maccabi T-A. The game without a history. CSKA led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. CSKA shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 63.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of French Nando De-Colo (196-87) who helped to win the game recording 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Spanish point guard Sergio Rodriguez (191-86) who added 15 points and 11 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Norris Cole (188-88, college: Cleveland St.) with 24 points, 7 assists and 4 steals and American-Israeli Jake Cohen (208-90, college: Davidson) scored 12 points. Five CSKA and four Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CSKA have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Russian champion maintains first position with 10-2 record. Loser Maccabi T-A dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Zalgiris and Khimki. CSKA will meet league's second-placed Olympiacos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Maccabi T-A will play against Panathinaikos in Athens and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
