Very predictable result when ninth ranked Real Madrid (7-6) rolled over at home bottom-ranked Valencia Basket (3-10) 91-72 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Real Madrid. Valencia Basket managed to win second period 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Real Madrid dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Valencia Basket's 22 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Valencia Basket 29-17 including 21 on the defensive glass. Real Madrid looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Argentinian point guard Facundo Campazzo (181-91) nailed 14 points and 8 assists for the winning side and American forward Trey Thompkins (208-90, college: Georgia) accounted for 12 points and 11 rebounds. Montenegrin power forward Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 18 points and 5 steals and swingman Fernando San-Emeterio (199-84) added 11 points respectively for Valencia Basket in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Real Madrid moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Maccabi T-A. Valencia Basket lost ninth consecutive game. Defending Spanish champion dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. They share it with Anadolu Efes. Real Madrid will meet Brose Baskets (#9) in the next round. Valencia Basket will play against Zalgiris (#6) and hope to secure a win.
