Regular Season Round 13: Panathinaikos - Maccabi T-A 89-76

Date: December 19, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Israeli Maccabi T-A (7-6) lost to fourth ranked Greek Panathinaikos (9-4) in Athens 76-89 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Panathinaikos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. American players dominated the game. James Gist (206-86) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and power forward Chris Singleton (206-89, college: Florida St.) accounted for 14 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Five Panathinaikos players scored in double figures. Point guard Pierre Jackson (180-91, college: Baylor) came up with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and DeShaun Thomas (201-91, college: Ohio St.) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Maccabi T-A in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending Greek champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Fenerbahce. Loser Maccabi T-A dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Real Madrid. Panathinaikos will meet Crvena Zvezda (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi T-A will play against Fenerbahce (#4) and hope to secure a win.
