Venezia upset Landes away from home in the opener. Basket Landes were trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 27-11 charge of Venezia, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for Latvian center Anete Steinberga (190-90, college: UTEP, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 8 rebounds (made all of her eleven free throws !!!). Point guard Debora Carangelo (169-92) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Celine Dumerc (169-82) answered with 15 points and 4 assists and Canadian power forward Miranda Ayim (191-88, college: Pepperdine, agency: ProDep Management) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Basket Landes.
