A very close game took place in Malaga between Valencia Basket and Unicaja Malaga. Fourteenth ranked Valencia Basket (5-11) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked Unicaja Malaga (7-9). Valencia Basket managed to escape with a 2-point win 85-83 on Thursday evening. Unicaja Malaga's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending Spanish champion maintains fourteenth position with 5-11 record. Unicaja Malaga at the other side dropped to the ninth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Baskonia and Crvena Zvezda. Valencia Basket will meet at home higher ranked Fenerbahce (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Unicaja Malaga will play against Zalgiris (#6) in Kaunas and hope to secure a win.
