Rather predictable result when third ranked Hungarian Sopron Basket (7-4) rolled over at home 6th ranked French Villeneuve D'Ascq (4-7) 82-56 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Sopron Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Sopron Basket especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. American guard Yvonne Turner (176-87, college: Nebraska, agency: ProDep Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 5 assists and 4 steals (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Spanish point guard Angela Salvadores (178-97, college: Duke, agency: ProDep Management) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Sopron Basket players scored in double figures. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Johanne Gomis-Halilovic (179-85) answered with 11 points and 5 assists and DR Congolese power forward Pauline Akonga-Nsimbo (188-82, agency: LBM Management) added 12 points in the effort for Villeneuve D'Ascq. Defending Hungarian champion moved-up to second place in Group A. Villeneuve D'Ascq lost their third game in a row. Defending French champion keeps the sixth position with seven games lost. Sopron Basket will face Castors Braine (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Villeneuve D'Ascq will play against USK Praha and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
