Regular Season Round 17: EA7 Armani - CSKA 81-107
Date: January 11, 2018
Very predictable result when second ranked Russian CSKA (13-4) smashed on the road bottom-ranked Italian Armani Milano (4-13) 107-81 on Thursday. The game without a history. CSKA led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Armani Milano's 36 and made 23-of-24 free shots (95.8 percent) during the game. CSKA looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Armani Milano was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. French Nando De-Colo (196-87) stepped up and scored 24 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners and American Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four CSKA players scored in double figures. American center Kaleb Tarczewski (213-93, college: Arizona) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Latvian Dairis Bertans (194-89) scored 15 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending Russian champion keeps a position of league leader. Armani Milano lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. CSKA will face Anadolu Efes (#15) in Istanbul in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Armani Milano will play at home against Unicaja Malaga and hope to win that game.
